 Neighbourhood Watch

Appleby has an active Neighbourhood Watch Group of some 15 street co-ordinators and an area coordinator Roger Fernando.  Regular ”street clinics” are held where residents can converse one on one with our local Community Police Officers. Dates of street clinics are notified by e-mail, Appleby Residents Facebook page, and word of mouth. For all Neighbourhood Watch information please contact Roger directly via email at crf-csd@uk2.net.

Welcome to Appleby website

Appleby Parish has a wealth of history which has been collated over a number of years by way of photographs and information by Anita Cross. It is a must visit for anyone interested in Appleby Village and Parish.

Appleby Women's Institute meets every second Tuesday in the month at 7.30 pm in the Appleby Village Hall. We belong to the National Federation of Women's Institutes, which is the largest women's voluntary organisation in England and Wales. Each month we have speakers covering a variety of topics. Also a summer outing, a garden meeting and in January an extra evening is always planned for the anniversary dinner.

If you would like to join us you will be made very welcome, we are a group of ladies of all ages and we always have plenty of tea and coffee and chatter.

Annual subscription to the WI is £37.50 paid yearly in January. You will also receive 8 copies of WI Life Magazine delivered to your door. If you wish to have a taster of what we do in the WI, you are welcome to come along as a visitor to one of monthly meetings at £3 for a first visit.

Appleby Fair is an annual event which brings our local community together as well as attracting hundreds of people from our surrounding communities.

The traditional format of the fair is highly regarded, and comprises many village attractions and country style stalls. The show very much belongs to the village, with several village members volunteering their time to ensure it’s a great event.

The organisers are always looking for fresh ideas, and new stalls, as well as exhibitors and community groups who wish to be involved.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of our village Fair please contact,
