The Parish of Appleby

Appleby in North Lincolnshire is located approximately 4 miles north of the town of Broughton in North Lincolnshire and is a very small rural community with a very rich heritage.

The Appleby Parish includes Appleby, Appleby Station, Santon and Clappgate and is home to less than 600 people but boasts a vibrant community involved with all aspects of both its history and future development.

The residents actively promote their community by means of annual events such as the highly regarded Appleby Show, and Appleby Produce Show, community-based clubs such as the community café, village church and many more.

The Parish Council is supported by 8 Parish Councillors and 3 Ward Councillors, who serve the community to ensure the smooth running of the council and maintain the beauty and originality of this incredible small village.

This website is intended to give open access to allow the public to view the initiatives, such as social planning, finances and the transparency of the Parish Council, and links to other hugely informative websites with regard to local history.

Parish Council Meetings

Members of the public are welcome to attend our regular parish council meetings; these are held every five weeks on Tuesday, starting at 7pm and held in the village hall. The agenda is published on the Thursday before the meeting. The dates of meetings, agendas and minutes can be found here.

Members of the public do not need to book in advance; you can just turn up on the evening of the meeting. However, if you contact the Clerk in advance, he will bring you a printed copy of the agenda and the minutes of the previous meeting.
